Same

When you were small and

The boy caught the firefly

In his hand and whipped

It hard onto the sidewalk

And smeared the glowing

Goo with his shoe,

Were you sad?

For the firefly?

For the world?

For your heart?

For his heart?

Does it break your heart still?

And do you still

Not understand casual killing

Even as you open

Your wallet and don't let

Yourself understand

How anything is made?

To my creditors

I
Don't
Care
What you think I owe you or
How fair you believe
Your calculation
To be; I cast off
Obligation. Your
Expectation doesn't
Belong to me.
If you gave something,
You should have given it
Freely.

Deserving

When I'm up, I'm afraid
I'll start to think
I deserve it. Then,
The Universe will have to show me

I don't. So,
I keep myself safe
By putting myself down.

That's why
I don't know the difference
Between humility and
Self-deprecation.

Invitation

I don't let
I invite
I invite us to live

I don't know
I wonder
Did you get my message

Come live with me
In this tiny castle I made
Real with my hands

We can stumble and
We're just not gonna
Hold in our bellies anymore
